Biggenden

It's so hot! I just came back in from playing with a hose in my Nana's back yard, well, front yard actually. We're in biggenden Visiting my grandma/nana Rose Bryers, as you may have guessed, I'm named after her. She has a beautiful cat named Tibbles, a dog named patch, 6 chickens, two of whitch are broody, and 6 doves that are in the mating season. She lives in a tiny town, as she says when your driving through, 'don't blink or you'll miss it!' it's around 90 degrees, and my sister and I are feeling the heat. Yesterday, we were leaving the motel and visiting some guy for lunch before picking up my cousin at the airport. The trip from the motel to the guys house was supposed to take about 25 minutes, instead, we got hopelessly lost and it took just over an hour. Not fun. We made it to the airport just as my cousin's plane arrived, none of us had met her so we spent 5 minutes asking every brown haired young woman if her name was Lauren. After we found her and she got her rental car we set out for biggenden.

my feet are falling off

we went to the austrailian zoo today, its 100 acers big and my feet are dying! i got to pet a koala, its fur was so thick and soft! it was cool to see all the animals, but my favorite part was the animals roaming free like sparrows, ibises, foot long lizards (water dragons aparently), and bush turkeys! the bush turkeys crack me up, they have ugly faces, red, with bright yellow wattles, oval black bodys, with fan tails! they're really hard to decribe. my mom and i took turns nearly stepping on lizards acidentaly. it was pretty funny! we're in beerwah, and from here we go to my nanas house in biggenden. i'll see if i can pst some photos later.

i hate mosquitoes

we're in Australia! its so hot here I'm sweating like crazy! I'm still having fun though, we're staying with some friends who have a trampoline and my parents and the people who own the house had a get together with all their friends from 20 years ago. most of the people have kids now and we were rampaging through the yard and having a ton of fun. it was wicked awesome! we made a sort of kid club in the basement, complete with music and a pool table. it was really fun, but now i have about a million really itchy bug bites :p

Happy thanksgiving!

i find it funny that tonight, while most Americans are sleeping after a thanksgiving dinner, we'll be in the air on our way to Australia! the realization that we're leaving today hasn't made its impact on me yet, so I'll probably become all giggly and spastic at the airport :p yesterday we 'tidyed up' the backyard, aka, raking leaves, cleaning out the chicken coop, raking some more leaves, now with chicken poo. ugh. not fun. it was raining the entire time, a light depressing drizzle that soaks you after awhile. I'm glad we'll be Australia soon, where its summer and the average temp. is 80 degrees. a bit to hot for my liking, but better than the gray skies here in Seattle.

OMG!!!!!

Wow. I went to the orthodontists on Monday, and it turns out I have an overbite! Go figure. The reason we never noticed it is because my two front teeth are slanted inward slightly, and the two teeth on either side of those flare out, but the two teeth slanted in makes them seem very flared, and all of that disguises my overbite. If that makes any sense. My bottom row of teeth are crowded, but I kinda figured that out when one of my canines started to turn sideways :p. So it looks like I'll be needing braces and rubber bands for about two years. Lucky me :( since we leave on Thursday, we are packing like crazy. Sigh. After I post this, I have to start packing my clothes, so i better get started. Wish me luck!

in love with a book ;p

i just read Goliath, third book in the leviathan series(and i finished it the same day ;) but now I'm really depressed because i loved the series and now its done and i feel like crying. i can only hope Scott Westerfeld comes out with a prequel or something, cause otherwise i think ill break down and sob. one week till we leave, i got my last date wrong, there was actually 1 1/2 of a week to go. oops. i just got a huge packet of math work from Janet to do while I'm away, eep. there's a lot of work. I'm really going to miss you guys (Olivia, Hollie, HL), but hopefully i'll come back with a ton of stories to make you guys laugh :)

I'm so exited! in one week i will be in Australia! it doesn't seem real. my parents are trying to get everything ready, but my sister and i just want to relax. I'm sad about leaving my friends, Olivia, Hollie, HL, but I'm also really looking forward to seeing Australia and new Zealand. Qantas has cleared everything up(thank god!) so its looking like we'll be leaving on thanksgiving as planned. I'm not looking forward to the 18 hour flight, but at least i have a new book to look forward to, the son of Neptune. :)
